sweet & simple honey cleanser
Forget expensive foaming and gel cleansers, that often contain detergents that strip the skin of its natural hydrating oils…
Have you heard of honey cleansing? Honey contains anti-bacterial properties which makes it a perfect medium for gently purifying the skin without stripping away precious oils. Honey cleansing is simple, sustainable and provides nourishment to the skin with its soothing, softening and hydrating properties.
Cleanser ingredients:
1 tsp pure honey
Associated beauty benefits:
Soothing, softening, hydrating, healing and anti bacterial.
How to:
Dampen the décolletage, neck and face with plain water or spritzing with rose water - this is important to prevent the sticky honey from dragging on the skin. Gently and lovingly massage the honey into the skin as would be done with a regular cleanser, moving from the décolletage upwards and from the centre of the face outwards. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Notes:
Choose pure honey that does not contain any additional additives. The honey should also be smooth (not granulated) to ensure there is no over scrubbing of the skin. Honey is generally considered suitable for most skin types, however there is no one-size fits all. Honey is warming in nature so for pitta skin types who feel they need more cooling, maple syrup may be substituted.
